Opportunities I see...
Goodrich is a small town, not more than 4 blocks in any direction. As such, a new research facility would be able to pull more people into the area if done properly. This would mean a stimulation for the economy of Goodrich and the potential for it to become a city. Goodrich appears to have space between it and the farmland in which flax is grown and it appears that the city would be able to expand considerably without affecting the flax crops which grow there and make the research facility's location in Goodrich a viable option. However, as with most major changes in small communities, the community might resist at first if they don't understand the improvement that is to be made with this facility. As such, it would be a good idea to make the building fit within the community as well as possible and due to the aesthetic theme around town, I feel that a more rural looking building would be more considerate of the community's current situation than an entirely steel building. However, due to the fact that this is a steel building project, maybe the facades would be the best potential areas to break the steel building mold.

To an extent, I definitely agree with a more rural looking project. If this were to be built in a small farm town, if it were to actually be built, I wouldn't necessarily choose the parameters given. But I'll gladly use steel/concrete in the hopes that I learn as much out of this project as I possibly can about those two materials.
